Hello, I’m Rhianna. I am a Vienna-based Theatre Maker, Actor, Director and Dramaturg from the UK. I am the Artistic Director of The Shakespeare Collective. This English Language Theatre Collective specialises in courageous storytelling with a community heart.
I work with Directors, Scriptwriters, Educators, and Theatre Management, to tell stories both on and beyond the stage. My recent work includes “English” by Sanaz Toossi with Vienna Theatre Project; extended storytelling, education and outreach with Watford Palace Theatre; delivering an outreach programme workshop with The Royal Shakespeare Company; and access and engagement consultation at the Young Actors Theatre Islington.
I specialised in Shakespeare in Performance at the University of Cambridge, and received a Distinction for her Masters of Arts in Dramaturgy at Birkbeck College (University of London). I am also a trained actor through workshops with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Storytelling: training in progress) and Theatre Du Soleil (Physical Theatre and Mask).
Access, inclusion, engagement and outreach are the core priority for all of my work.
I find that storytelling can be an act of resistance; that we create our own identities through the stories we tell; and that by listening to the stories of others, we can begin to understand, and to draw close.
