Hello, I’m Rhianna. I am the Artistic Director of The Shakespeare Collective. This English Language Theatre Collective specialises in courageous storytelling with a community heart.

I tell stories both on and beyond the stage. I am currently touring internationally with The Shakespeare Collective productions; “Shakespeare Stories: A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “The Pericles Project”. Other recent work includes “English” by Sanaz Toossi with Vienna Theatre Project; extended storytelling, education and outreach with Watford Palace Theatre; delivering an outreach programme workshop with The Royal Shakespeare Company; and access and engagement consultation at the Young Actors Theatre Islington.

I specialised in Shakespeare in Performance at the University of Cambridge, and completed an MA in Dramaturgy at Birkbeck College (University of London; Distinction). I have also trained through workshops with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Storytelling) and Theatre Du Soleil (Physical Theatre and Mask).

Access, inclusion, engagement and outreach are the core priority for all of my work.

I find that storytelling can be an act of resistance; that we create our own identities through the stories we tell; and that by listening to the stories of others, we can begin to understand, and to draw close.
